New to this forum and in need of help please.

My outside boiler is driving me nuts. I have to pressure it up at least twice a day as it looses pressure.
When it is on the pressure goes up above 2 1/2 bar and the bleed pipe is hot , but i have an egg cup under the end of it to see if it leaks water but it is empty.
I have had an engineer from gleaner oils look at it a few times this past month. He has had to change the two bleed v/v,s on the top and also the pump , but it is still loosing pressure.
He now reckons a leak my be inside the house ,but this would cost a fortune in ripping up carpets and floor boards.
Would a plumber have some way of detecting where a possible leakmay be. Cheers for any advice ..........voddy

Hi Voddy, If you check all visable pipework, rad valves and any air points thats a start also if you do have a hatch to get under the floor you could try to inspect. Also the expansion vessel should be checked if its lost its charge. Last option is to inject internal leak sealer into system and that should cure the problem but try to find it first.

Ps your just along the road from me

Hi cozzmic , im just outside elgin.
Have just been out again to turn up the pressure . At the bottom and to the left hand side it is damp , so im wondering if there is a leak here.
Dont have any hatches To check pipes , if only !!!!
Guess i,ll have to phone a plumber tomorrow .
I asked the guy who came today if there was a sealant that could be used as in car radiators but he was,nt sure..............

Your last option would be absolutely the last resort.

Putting a dose of leak sealer in a combi is asking for trouble unless you are selling the house in the next 4 weeks.....
