I have just removed a 8'x6' shed from my garden, and am left with a concrete slab. Could I lay topsoil over this slab and seed it to make a lawn?

I am excavating my driveway because its too high to get the car on at the moment (my car has a low, long front overhang and it scrapes the pavement), so I have a ready supply of soil. How deep would the soil need to be over the concrete?

You will need to break up the concrete and remove, as there would be no drainage.

Ahhh, never thought about drainage. Fair enough. I might pave over it instead. Cheers.

The problem is, the lawn I have is not in proportion to the rest of the garden. Its not a big garden, and the end of it is taken up by the driveway. I'm planning to deck the concrete area close to the house next year if funds allow. But dont want too much decking. I will start a new thread shortly asking for ideas!

Cheers.

What about some artificial grass. It seems to be getting popular ?
Simon.
