When I retiled my bathroom, I used Mapei epoxy grout in a mid grey colour.

At the bottom of the tiling up from the tray, some of the grout had a light yellow tinge to it.

Does anyone know how to clean this?
Is it possible to remove.

All the tiles halfway up, to the ceiling are still the original grey colour.

TIA.

Mr Chibs, good evening.

Could be that shampoo and soap, or their residuals are the cause of the issue??

One easy [cheap] cleaning option could be ??? get some Cillit Bang the black mould and mildew version and have a go with that?

Thanks Ken, wish it was shampoo :D

I remember some 10 years ago using that

It may well be the result of bacteria living on the residues of shower gel or shampoo, as KenGMac suggests. Bleach should clean it up.

OK guys, realised what a loppy sod I am.

Thought I'd try bleach and water first, as I had both in:cautious:

Worked a treat, especially when I opened the can of 'elbow grease'!

Thanks

Only buy clear products the colour is superfluous.

I believe that the discolouration is not a function of the colour of the shampoo/gels used but is the natural colour of the bacteria (or rather their by products).
