I need to remove some cracking paint (sun damaged) from a large outside shed. It's all on wood panels.
Is there a disc for a grinder that can do this or will that remove the wood also?
I've tried belt sanders in the past but have not had much luck with them.
The wood panels have a slight curve, which might measure this difficult for any sander.
What about a paint remover tool?

The paint is pretty dry and our cracked, peeling

You could use a wire brush 'attatchment' in the grinder. As long as you take it steady, it should remove the loose paint without damaging the wood.

Make sure you wear gloves and goggles when using these, as occasionally one of the bristles will break off, and it really really hurts bare hands, and will take your eye out.

Try 80 grit - although there has to be some abrasion of the timber.
Keep the guard in place as you only use the front quadrant of the abrasive disc and wear eye protection.
John :)

It's not thick wood- they are like these wood panels or cladding that you can put on the outside of a house. Should still work I hope.
