As part of my bathroom refurb. I am planning to heat the floor. I am removing the old sand and cement screed, and laying vermiculite/cement with heating pipe laid in it, then topping off with ceramic floor tiles. The idea is not to heat the room excessively, only to make it warm to walk on. The existing oilfired system for the house will supply the hot water, with a thermostat to reduce the temperature to suit. Does this sound reasonable? I had considered an electric system, but it will cost about the same to install and more to run. Am I right?
