Hey, just considering our options and wanted to check a few things.

We are having some internal alterations/extension which will include a low threshold bi-fold door onto the garden.
Currently the drop from kitchen floor to garden is about 220mm.
My wife would like a raised patio, level with the kitchen floor. Created by building a 200mm ish wall 3.5m out from the house, 7.5 across and the 3.5m back to the house.

questions…

Can a patio be laid against the house?

Against the house is the drain for the kitchen sink and also a down pipe. The down pipe will be removed and the kitchen drain will be redundant as the kitchen is moving to another room. Can a gully be installed along the length of the house, draining into either of these?

thanks for your help,

A patio can be put against a wall lower than dpc height.

You can install a gully no problems.

You can use the rainwater downpipe, but you can't use the kitchen waste pipe to expel the water from the gully
