And the answer is??? Do nowt til it hits the leafier suburbs, then it may all be too late.....
Ah, tis ok we have Soca our very own FBI ... A target list of the 1,000 most wanted organised gangs in Britain .. Blimey, around 1 per mile length of country ... £400m budget is it enough? Or deliberately just too little?? We shall see.

nah, leave well alone. it's generally only chav on chav violence anyway, helps the old pension deficeit you know.

Give em free bullets...they only shoot each other anyway...the more that do it...the less the problem becomes.

Either that or give anyone caught with a shooter 15 years minimum

I agree in a sense, but its the innocent bystanders that get caught up in it as well.

Tighter controls on our borders, = less scum bringing the guns in. :D

I hate it when people use the slightest excuse to let you know its their birthday :D sad isn't it  and just by chance by coincidence to day is my birthday I'm 53 I was convinced when I was young that I'd never make 40 cos of thurmo nuclear war or germ warfare of similar. Hooray! I'm still alive aaaaah! phut! crash bang wollop! .................................go to the light! :D

Surely, the best thing to do would be to ban ownership of these guns? Oh, isn't that already the case....

Happy Birthday Richard :D

Personally, I detest guns and everything they stand for. joe-90, how can you say that gun crime is a black crime? Not all guns are owned by black people and not all black people own a gun!

The guy who went on a rampage in Dunblane - was he black? Jeremy Bamber, is he black? Was Stuart Horgan black? No!

I personally think it is a racist thing to say that gun crime is a black issue and also a very blinkered thing to say too.

Who knows, you could be walking down the road tomorrow and get splattered by someone with a gun and would you have suspected the guy of carrying a firearm in that big bag if he was white?

I live in Nottingham.

Slogger, I too could have access to guns if I wanted to - all legal ones. I'll bet most people could obtain access to illegal guns if they really wanted to

i have done asked several people that i know have interests in illegal dealings most are jack the lad types who work but have a part time criminal interest

seems i was wrong about the black gun syndrome

everyone of the white people i asked all have access to guns ALL illegal some offered to sell me one

so the gun law brought in to make us safer was a total waste of time

someone said it before

WHEN GUNS ARE OUTLAWED ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS

Tis true, gun crime is all over.

I do agree (sorry!) with joe-90 though, I used to live in (or at least very very near to) Nottingham myself and it's more rife there than anywhere else, including the inner parts of London. It's one of the reasons I moved away - pure fear.

In terms of the race issue, there is a valid point to be made, however. As a member of a "minority group" myself, I always tread carefully on these issues. But we need to look at facts. Most of the gun crime in Nottingham has been perpetrated by people of a black origin. Personally, I reserve judgement. It sounds like such a worn cliché to say "a lot of my friends are black", but in my case it's true. They do tend to carry the blame for their race, but there's an opportunity there for the taking to educate each other on peaceful living.........
