Gurgling Cistern

Hi,

When the cistern fills up after flushing the toilet, it makes a strange gurgling noise when it's full, but it stops when I run the tap for a couple of seconds, I imagine it's because I temporarily lower the pressure of the water eneting the cistern. Any ideas how to stop the strange noise????
