Gurgling from loft!!

Friday central heating started up, both hot water and CH OK, after 30/40mins loud banging and gurgling from the loft.

Checked tank stat seemed faulty, fitted new one, seemed to work OK.

Saturday/Sunday all ran OK (2 hours in morning and 6 hours during evening).

System started up this morning after 30/40 mins then banging as Friday, also tripped the boiler trip, have reset this and all is ok again, running for last 90mins no noises.

Gas boiler - pumped system with 2 valves in airing cupboard.

Checked in loft, the water in the small tank was hot as was the pipe feeding it from above.

Any ideas, should I call in an expert?

Maybe someone has switched on the imersion heater by mistake and the thermostat for that is faulty

that would discharge over the large water tank.........have a look in the WIKI and wait for some more replies

Doh...Read it as the storage tank and not the F&E, must have thought that when he changed the cylinder stat that it was on that side of the system.
