ive been trying to do what seems like a simple job but i cant figure it out. its the gutter on the ground floor extension. i can reach it with a ladder but the problem is, i dont see how i would be able to remove the fascia and replace it and the guttering all whilestanding on a ladder with drill in one hand and carrying the fasci in the other i dont feel safe doing it. ive thought about putting up some sort of scafolding but that could get quite costly too.
ive been quoted just over £1000 to replace the gutter and a bit of wood. seems way overpriced.

should i ask a handyman to do it rather than a roofer since i feel like roofers want to overcharge

Hire a tower scaffold for about £70 a week an option?

I replaced my gutters, sophits and fascias, from a single ladder. I used careful planning, hooks hammered in to the ends of the rafters, and some light rope, to take the weight of the far end of each long component. I had some help, in tugging on the rope, from the ground.

the other problem wih a job like this is if i take down the gutters and cant fix it ill be left with no gutters at all until i can find someone to do it.

Very easy job, working from a tower. Do you have someone to assist?
