OP says this has now been resolved.
Hi got some guttering originally installed only 3 years ago July 2021 seems to be failing underneath and at joint to next section.

Any thoughts/ideas why it would have failed so soon or have I just been unlucky

(Trying to get roofervwho installed to replace as think should be covered by guarantee)

Thanks

why do you think the gutter is failing ??
has the level dropped along its length??
are any joints leaking??
looks more like somthing blocked to me not a fault but a maintainance issue
but no expert

OP,
Clear daylight can be seen between the gutter & the fascia - thats one thing that might be wrong?
Perhaps the felt is stopping too short of the gutter - perhaps Eaves Protector felt support trays are needed?
As above, fitting connections might be leaking - falls wrong - or a blockage in the gutter or RWP?
A ladder needs raising, & the gutter examined off the ladder - take pics.

Thanks looked to me like water was coming out of the bottom of the gutter and also (last video) drips through the joint to next section. That's why I thought must be failing. There's less of a gap/visible light for the section nearer than further a long

+1. I had that happen years ago when some magpies tore bits off the felt edge. Not sure if they were simply being malicious, or were hunting for bugs :giggle:.

Managed to get photos from window above various cr*p haf accumulated fortunately was able to clear using a docapole and gutter clearing attachment

There also looks to be too few brackets, allowing it to sag and distort on the longer unsupported sections. In my experience builders always use far too few brackets to support plastic gutters - they really need brackets at half meter intervals to keep the gutter properly supported and avoid sags and distortion.

Thanks installed by a roofer that's worth knowing anyway tho. Thank you for the advice

Had this and turned out my gutter had become unclipped. Lucky for me i could see it with a small ladder on my extension. I suspect it was from the roofers recently not being careful (there's been a few issues!!!). I cleaned out the small amount of dirt and re-clipped it and also sealed it so hoping that solved it!

Black uPVC gutter is the reason. Why anyone installs this, I don't know (and yes there is some on my house which I will replace eventually). Thermal expansion of uPVC is huge - typically 0.07-0.08 mm/deg/m. Black gutter gets very hot in full sun - let's say 40 degrees (maybe more - you know how hot the roof of a black car gets in full sun) , and in winter gets down to say -5, so a 45 degree temp range. Over 5m that's 0.08 x 45 x 5 = 18mm of expansion and contraction. It's no wonder the stuff creaks, moves about, opens the joints, twists and bends.....

Black gutters and downpipes always start to look bad after a few years when the plastic starts to go a bit "chalky" and develops a whitish colour. White gutters still eventually go chalky, though this takes longer as they don't get so hot in the sun, and you can't see it either.
I'd also always go for half round gutters - the rubber seal between sections is much more reliable than sealing the corners in square or ogee gutters
