The only solution I can think of is to buy new towels. If it happens again, get the towels into a bucket of cold water straight away for a couple of hours and then wash as normal.

Unfortunately this is the big problem with hair dye: it's only purpose is to stain and not come out even after lots of washing. Believe me, it won't come out. It will fade slightly over time, but it will always be a stain.

Don't throw them away though, keep the stained towels and just use them as your hair-dyeing towels. My ex had towels and a bathrobe that she only used for hair-dye, to keep the nice ones clean.

Look on the bright side: it didn't get on the carpet!

the only possibility I can think of is that the hair dye, like most cheap dyes isnt light fast - so although there is no quick fix, leaving them in the sun as much as possible (over the back of a chair near a south facing window for instance) will see the hair dye fade much faster than the towels colour.

assuming you dont mind being wet until then

So there is no remedy! Oh well.. I will keep them as future hair Dyeing towels,
Thanks :)

That would be a north facing window in Australia, sorry to be pedantic!
