I've just had the bedroom reskimmed and the plaster dried out fine. Since the wall has been painted a few tiny hairline cracks have appeared on two of the four walls.

Does anyone have any ideas why this has happened and what I can do about it? will another layer of paint work to solve the problem?

Cheers.

What are the walls made of,Plasterboard,brick/blocks? Are the cracks vertical, spidery?(nice word). Can you give us more info.

The walls are brick and the hairline cracks are in a spidery pattern.

Thanks for the info bongos.
Rub the back of your hand gently over the cracked areas, with just your fingernails touching the wall, and see if it sounds hollow. If it does, then it could be the new skim coat coming loose from the wall underneath. That would be the worst case scenario. I hope i'm wrong, but spidery cracks radiating outwards quite often indicate that.Try it and see.
