Hi,
The basement floor in my house seems to be half finished. Literally half of the floor looks like a thin layer of cement that has been poured over a plastic sheet which was on a bed of sand (with the dirt floor underneath the sand). The other half of the basement is just sand. I don't know why the previous owners only did half but i would like to now have the whole basement floored correctly.
Am I right in thinking what i need to do is remove the cement and plastic sheeting on half the basement, pat down all the sand so its level, cover in a plastic sheet and then pour self leveling compound on it? or would epoxy resin work better than cement? Its going to be used for storage so as long as its dry im happy.
Thanks,
Joe.
