Hi,

I'm having an issue with the bearing on the flu fan, it first seized a few weeks ago and I freed it with some light oil. However it seized again last night and this time the coil has got very hot and discoloured. Originally I was going to dismantle it but on inspection I changed my mind but can't remember why now!! Can anyone advise on dismantling it and what to grease it with? I see the replacement is about £200 and I wonder if it is worth repairing the boiler at all? I have to refill it quite often as it drops to about .7 bar and wont light. When it is working the flow rate on the shower does not seem to be as high as it was and I have a tall vertical rad that doesn't heat up very well. I did have a plumber out last year to look at Servicing it and he said just leave it alone! It's about 12 years old.

Any thoughts?
thanks,
Phil
