Hi,
I have a Halstead Hero 90 boiler approx 6 years old.
It would seem that the fans electro magnet has over time become permanently magnetized therefore during its start up process the fan does not spin and the boiler goes to lock out. Given a helping hand to get the fan turning it spins as it should and the boiler will fire up, although when the thermostat cuts in to shut down the boiler, the fan has this residual magnetic resistance and won't start again unless assisted.
Is there anyway of dissipating the magnetic charge thus allowing the fan to spin freely as it should when the boiler is off?
Many thanks
