I have a problem with the above combi boiler. Basically the system keeps tripping out when on for about 5 mins and we have to reset it by turning the main switch on and off again. Last night the system seemed very reluctant to re-ignite - you could sometimes hear the ticking noise which I assume is the spark prior to ignition but that ticking noise wasn't always there. A friend suggested it was a pump problem but I think it must be something to do with either the ignition or maintaining the spark?

Check power to ignition sequence board, then the fan and/or aps first. Without these proved boiler will not spark.

If sparking look at gas valve sticking.

Thanks gas4u, our replies crossed over I think!! Cheers

By the way, when I said it trips out, the pump is still working, but the hot water/heating are no longer hot.

I think that you need a competent CORGI engineer to diagnose the fault.

As its gas related I cannot give you detailed advise.
