Think I've still got one of those old lampholder connectors. They were really handy in the days before battery drills. When you had the sockets off you could plug in your .....Err nothing!

It is surprising how many of those lamp caps you still see - Mostly on the end of old strings of xmas lights.

Folk around here still seem to remove the porch lamp bulb and plug the xmas lights around the window into the lamp holder.

Hahahahh

that has got to be one of the best / funniest things i have seen in ages

yep there are morons in this trade

who said it was made by a trades person? only you implied it, no one else.

Nice to think whoever did make it was looking after their cholesterol!

Upto about 10 years ago my dad used to plug his electric shaver into the bathroom light. He could even do this with the light still on as the lamp holder had 2 sockets to plug into so was obviously designed for use that way. Just last week he lost his charger for his shaver and asked me where he could buy 'one of those things that plug into the light'.

My Dad used to plug 'one of those things that plug into the light' to extend the hall light into the cupboard where the heating boiler was (it had a bulb & holder on the other end) for the gas man when he came to service the boiler so he could see in there. As a kid, I always knew when the gas man was coming, the cupbaord door would be open with this cable and bulb hanging over the door ready for him.
And now, 30 years or so later, I use that same fitting for the porch at Christmas time :) Although it has a light-up Santa on a yellow moon on the other end now. Or is it the string of lights we have around the front door, can't quite remember. Soon be time to dig it all out again.
