Hi,
Hoping to replace 3 internal Sapele doors with 3 1930s original doors.Unfortunately I did the measurements and failed to measure the depth as well as the ht.and width! The ht.and w.are fine but the depth is approx.1/2 cm too thick.I am in the dog house, husband irate. Can I remedy situation. All advice welcomed. :( :(

I think you mean that when the door closes against the stop, it sticks out on the other side?

Unless your house is very old and/or very expensive, the stop will be a timber batten about 1" x 1/3" that is just nailed to the frame (door lining).

You can pry it off and nail a new one onto the frame to meet the door when you are holding it in its ideal closed position.

You will have to repaint the frame and stop, but if you are fitting new doors I expect you will need to do that anyway.

If the door is thicker than the rebate allows then deepen the rebate with either a router (do be careful) or a rebate plane.
Refit door and paint!
Sounds easy but it will be hard work = good luck
