Hey I have this beam in my house and I was wandering if it looks safe to hang (no more than 45kg punch bag) on it. I am not sure what the material is but here is a picture if it helps.

wrap some material around it with a strong rope so you have a loop to attach the bag to.
That way you do not leave marks on the beam.
And when you hit it - be in line with the beam not perpendicular to it - that way the force goes along the beam not against it so it does not wobble.
