Hello, can anyone shed some light on how to hang a pine wall unit in my kitchen?

I was expecting to use the same adjustable clips that come with a standard fitted kitchen, but I'm being told to hang them using two battens instead.

I can understand one batten being used underneath the wall unit and one within at the top, but apparently both battens will be covered by the unit. Then screws fixed from the bottom of the unit up into the batten.

Anyone else seen this done? I haven't got the cupboards yet, but I'm trying to lay things out and this is confusing me.

Thanks
d.

Sounds like a split batten, if you take a piece of 2x1 and cut it in half lengthways at 45 degrees then screw half to the wall and the other half to the carcass, then the two battens interlock holding the unit in place. Can't you just screw it to the wall?

Had to think about that setup timbo, but I see what you're saying now.
Doesn't sound like that's the method suggested to me though?

I was under the impression I could screw them directly to the wall, but I guess the back panel isn't built to take the weight.
