I have a small 60x60 cm radiator on my kitchen wall. This is an outside wall, at least 150 years old with 2 layers of brick and a lath and plaster inner liner. I hung the radiator using spring out plasterboard fastenings, but a visitor has accidentally fallen and partially dislodged it, damaging the plaster and some of the laths. I’ve considered screwing a sheet of ply on the wall with lots of fastenings then screwing the rad to that, but it would look a bit odd.
Does anybody have any ideas how I could attach solidly to the brick wall underneath? The catch is that you have to go through 9 cm of plaster, lath and fresh air before you get there. I’m not keen on significantly enlarging the holes to get to the brick.
Or any other ideas?
