i am hanging stripe wallpaper horizontal, one wall .. the wall has boxed in pipes right in the middle the boxing is about 7 inches by 2 inches, would it be wise to try and hang paper in one go straight accross i feel this would be tricky or would it be ok to hang paper to the edge of the pipe box then paper over the box and then another length the other side so doing it in 3 pieces making sure it is straight... if this makes sense. or just paint the boxing in the middle white.:rolleyes:o_O

Do it in 3 pieces or by the time you get to the other end your vertical srtipes will be on the tilt! With papering, I always cut and join on every internal angle.

thanks, that's the answer i was hoping for really just wanted to make sure this was the best way before i started the job(y)

Depending on the thickness of the stripes, I'd do the boxed in pipes section first, leaving perhaps 1/2" underlap either side then work out on both sides from there. Then, cut the left and right sides of that so that the stripes appear as one, getting the uncut edges perfectly vertical using a plumb line, if you know what I mean. Personally, I'd also use overlap adhesive on the overlaps to prevent it lifting.
