My kids used to watch a programme called, 'The Raggy Dolls' when they were younger.
One of the characters springs to mind instantly, his name was Sad-Sack.

Strange coincidence - my old fella used to work for radio rentals.
We rented our first telly from them, £3.50 a month for a 24" Black & White. Wouldn't get one for the first 4 months of our marriage as I thought it was £3.50 a week!
(Surprised it took 4 years before the first child came along!)

It's nice, sort of comforting, to hear the names of shops, products, people of your childhood. The 'Radio Rentals' thing just jumped into my head when you two started on about TV Channels.
Woolworths was a great store years ago but it lost it's way. Still has an online presence but it's not the same.
