hi all, i recently installed three more lights in my daughters room, they are all fed by one switch. Two of the other lights i installed are downlighters and bought some coloured gu10 bulbs which are controlled by a little remote control. not a problem but she now just want the coloured bulbs on most of the time and only use the main light when she wants. I cant get another wire down/in the wall.
So was thinking maybe a remote control light controller in the actual light fitting itself, so the switch can be on and she can turn off the main light and control the coloured bulbs by the other remote.

As long as you can assess the unit I see no problem, however my smart switches have required re-booting from time to time, i.e. turning off mains supply, so do make sure you can easy replace or turn off, if in loft area a switch/isolator so if it goes wrong it can be all switched off.
