Could also be caused by server problems across the internet. Last week I had trouble accessing some of my favourite sites. My internet provider said there was nothing wrong and to do a trace to bbc.co.uk.
This returned the expected results (great connection), But when I tried a trace to one site, I was having trouble accessing, the trace stopped at a server in Leeds.
Later on the internet provider admitted they were having problems with this server and a lot of traffic went through this particular server.
For anyone who doesn't know how to do a trace, go to start then run, type in cmd. You then get a black screen up type in tracert (site name without the www. ) eg tracert bbc.co.uk
This should show you every step of the way from your computer to the bbc website.
If your having problems accessing any sites then try this and you'll find out where the signal is being held up /blocked.

There was a hickup which caused slow loading on Saturday night but since then as far as I'm aware, there have been no problems this end.

PS if you're tracerouting this site use www.diynot.com (diynot.com is at a different IP (& datacentre) which redirects to www anyway)

been bl008y awful for an hour just past 5 till just past 6 but ok now :p

Coincidentally and unfortunately, one of our providers suffered a network outage late afternoon/evening, which affected some services on the site, everything should be back to normal now.

having real bad trouble with this forum, nothing is loading in properly thats if it loads in at all,is it diynot or is it my laptop?
i dont have any problems with any other forum i use just this 1.

DRIVING ME NUTS.

Is this something that you're experiencing all the time or just occasionally?

all the time on this forum, its taken me approx 3 minutes to post this reply,EXTREMELY SLOW in getting the pages to load, any other forum i use has no problems at all, pages load very quickly and it doesnt hang, this 1 takes an age, hence why i asked if its a diynot problem or perhaps a problem with my laptop,im open to suggestions on what to try to make pages appear quicker on here?

I'm not sure, the above link is working for me. Has this started happening recently? I'm looking into your case and will probably send you a message tomorrow with some more information.

thanks guv,
its been happening for a few days now,i havnt done anything different my end,and as said no other forum i use has this problem, you say the link works for you?you mean it loads totally?coz it doesnt for me at all.
if i knew how to take a picture of the page im looking at as i type this i would,as a piccy speaks a thousand words.but to me its as if the page refuses to load completly, lots of missing bits etc.

Playing up again now.

Text comes up fairly quickly, but the icons never appear.
