The photo shows the roof space above my bathroom extension, which is a 15 degree pitched roof, with a standard ceiling. The span of the roof is approx 8ft. I am assuming the horizontal timber at the apex is a ridge board. However the fact that it is rather large makes me wonder if it is in fact a ridge beam, in which case my plan to core drill below it for an extractor fan outlet will need to be re thought. Does anyone know if a ridge beam would be used in such a small span?
Ideally I would fit a vent tile but I am struggling to find one that matches the type of tile, and is suitable for such a low pitch.
