HEAD GASKET...STRETCH BOLTS...PEUGEOT 405 TD

HI NEED TO CHANGE THE HEAD GASKET ON MY PEUGEOT 405 GLX TD.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS ABOUT FIVE DIFFERENT GASKETS TO CHOOSE FROM...HOW DO I KNOW WHICH IS THE RIGHT ONE? CAN I TELL BEFORE I TAKE THE OLD ONE OFF ?

ALSO WILL I NEED NEW STRETCH BOLTS.

ALSO HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST ME TO HAVE THE HEAD SKIMMED ??

The head gasket will have an area on the edge with some notches cut out on it to tell you the thickness. Probably wont be able to tell til you get it off, but sometimes you can see the tag sticking out the side when it's on the car
Definately get new stretch bolts.
Head skim should be under £30.

get it off and take it with you,you can then get the correct head set and bolts,any decent motor factors will be able to identify it,somewhere like gsf or euro parts may be your best bet

If you're having the head skimmed you may need a slightly thicker gasket depending on how much they have to skim off it.
