My wife want me to replace the existing bathroom radiator with a towel radiator but she wants the new towel radiator to heat up when the hot water is turned on without the central heating.
How does this work?
Quite apart from losing 5-10°C the real downside of doing that with a tower rail on a combi is that you have to draw off about 10 litres before it becomes somewhat hot at the tap.
Apart from the waste of water there is the question of a one minute wait for hot water !
Thanks again chaps for all the good information.
I did think about the dead leg water wastage.
She'll have to make do with it only working when the central is on.
HTR immersion heater in the bottom of one leg of the towel rail works perfectly well! Only 200 watts or so.
But does need supply spur and switch OUTSIDE the bathroom.
