Heat only boiler wiring

I have main 30 HE a heat only boiler. It is working fine, but just curious… it has no permanent electric supply to it. It comes live by zone valve when the programmer calls for either heat or DHW. Is that normal?

Yes it is, according to the manual I have (see below). A permanent live is required to keep the pump running for a short time once the 'call for heat' has gone.

If yours is the same as the above, what is connected to the L terminal on the far left? and is the pump connected to the LNE terminals as shown?
