I have just installed a low voltage downlighter using a 65w transformer. This is my first time. I wired the switch incorrectly and couldn't switch it off. I took the bulb out to do so and it was really, really hot. Is this normal. Have started to worry about it so any advice greatly appreciated.

yup downlighters get hot

there are lighting wreing diagrams in a sticky thread in this forum if you are useing lights with a transformer it would be normal to use a junction box instead of a rose
