Hi,

I have a system boiler heating and hot water system. Controller/programmer is an ACL lifestyle LP241.

This programmer has two channels - heating and hot water. However, they don’t function separately.

The central heating does not switch on unless both heating and hot water channels are set to on, and in that case both heating and hot water are on. Similarly, hot water does not switch on unless you switch both on, and both heating and hot water are then on.

I wonder if someone could take a look and let me know if they think the wiring needs adjusted?

Thanks,

I don't think it's the wiring. What motorised valve(s) do you have?

Thanks, here is the motorised valve we have. The valve was replaced around 2 years ago due to a fault with it, but this issue present before then.

No other similar valves. Only other thing coming off the pipework is the circulating pump.

I’ve had a good look around in the usual places (near water cylinder etc) and I can’t find a wiring centre. Only thing I could find is attached, but it doesn’t look like a standard wiring centre I’ve seen before.

Boiler was installed around 20years ago, glowworm hideaway 120b.

Can you trace where the existing motorised valve cable goes?

With a C Plan, you can't have CH without DHW, so possible no option but to have DHW on. I have in the past used a single two port valves to limit the temperature of DHW, or to turn it off.

But this is not following a standard plan.

This house uses C Plan and has two pumps and two motorised valves, these allow either main house or flat or both to be heated, and the DHW is always heated if the boiler is running.

So I have no idea what a single motorised valve does, one would need to follow the pipework.

Why do you think we have a c plan?

So for a bit of background, this issue started when our house flooded due to a burst frozen pipe in the attic about 5 years ago. The house was renovated, and a lot of the pipework was changed with that (but not the boiler itself). Before the renovation work, we could switch on the heating independent of the hot water. Since then, we can’t as described above.

Is it possible that the plan was changed when the renovation work took place?
