Hi,

I fitted a digistat 3 over the weekend, but have run into a problem.

The fuse powering the heating controls (a Potterton EP2002) keeps on blowing. I did think the fuse may be too a low a rating, but from what I can gather 3amp is correct. It will run for several hours most the time, its not an instant blow out.

Any ideas appreciated.

you must have something wrong, but without more information that is all i can say

Thanks for replying, I really appreciate your help.

Would the fuse not blow straight away or the unit fail to work if it was wired wrong? What information do you need me to tell?

Unless the spec's changed since 1980ish, a mains fuse will take twice it's rated current for 30mins. So the current is less than 6A, from your info. Find the watts marked on each of the items connected and add them up. Should be a lot less than 700ish. Try drawing a circuit of everything you have connected, it might show something. If you have a current clamp, measure the currents around the circuit.
