Hi All
Please can anyone confirm what can cause a tv suppressor to pop, having called an engineer in yesterday, he stated the probable cause of it blowing was the central heating pump, as there was no power to it and as it was an older grundfos model 25 years plus.
The wiring schematics for the Thorn Apollo 15/30b show the suppressor wired as follows..
black to 3 way switch
yellow to earth stud
black to neutral on boiler terminal block (shared with pump neutral)
Power from mains to terminal block
No power to pump, tv suppressor and 3 way switch
New motorised valve which works as it should. new cylinder stat, new room stat
I took the pump off and put a lead to it and it spins fine, but I will replace anyway because of the age.
Can a faulty tv suppressor stop a pump operating via the boiler terminal block.
