Have a problem with system no hw or heating.Fitted new pump recently this works ok have 2 motorised valves both work ok have water in expansion tank.A few days ago boiler temp went berserk so have fitted new boiler stat.Thought there was air in system so have bled radiators and have back forced mains water through.The pump gets very hot but no water goes to hw or heating.Any ideas very greatfully appreciated.

you did open both pump valves didn't you?

it really does sound like a blockage or an airlock. i know you've struggled to detemine whether it is one of them without any joy but try this if you haven't already, it's worked for me in the past. connect a hose to a suitable drain point and open the drain cock. make sure the pump isn't running and both motorised valves are in the open/manual postion. don't switch off the rising main feeding the expansion tank and let it refill as it drains. i've had awkward airlocks in the past that've simply been "flushed out" by doing this.
