Hi everybody

I have an open vented system running water & heating ,when the heating is on the rads get very hot, but the thermostat on the boiler is only on no1.All rads have tvrs set on no 3.The boiler is a potterton prima f. i would be grateful if anybody has any ideas. many thanks

The problem is the rads are so hot you cannot put your hand on them.

Nice problem to have.

Firstly, you may be under the misapprehension that TRVs reduce the temp of the rad. They do not, they just cycle them on and off to achieve reduced space heating temperature.

Even on 1 (on a non condensing boiler) the rad surface temp is likely to be circa 60C.
