heatline boiler noise

my 18 month old combi boiler (new with house) has started to make a chuff chuff noise like a steam train when it runs for longer than four hours.
Also when it does this and the therm cuts in, it sounds like a plane landing inside the boiler but not as loud.
I have no intention of fixing it myself , simply wanted to know what it might be and if its realy serious before i call sumone out
