Hi Folks,
I've searched high and low for the answer to this problem and so far I've found nothing. So its either that stupid a question that nobody has thought it would be asked or I'm asking something new (I'll go for the first).

I've recently purchased a fixed chrome shower arm and head from the net, which has arrived but is very heavy shower head end (obvious I know). The unit comes out of the wall and is fed from a burried pipe. What I'm worried about is the amount of strain this is putting on the pipe and elbow at the other end. Surely the brass elbow joint isn't sufficient to hold such a large amount of weight. Even if it is, will the threaded pipe be able to support such weight? :?:

I can supply a picture if it helps, unless of course the answer is so obvious that its answered easily enough.

Many thanks

Yeah thats what I have ready to fit, but the shower and arm weigh a hefty 4.5 lb with most of that weight concentrated at the shower head end. Can one of these support that much weight? What about the threaded portion? Seems like alot, especially if it's knocked or something.

I know I wont be doing chin ups on it but I'm amazed that can hold so much weight. I'll trust what you folks have got to say, I'm new to plumbing so thought I'd better ask.

Cheers for your help.
