Hi Guys

This is a follow-on from thso thread: https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/is-this-as-terrible-as-it-looks.585203/

In short we unfortunately hired one of the bad guys. Despite him having many good reviews (Checkatrade, Bark, Mybuilder, RatedPeople) we were left in the situation of the job you can see in the photos below and a very aggressive person, who we eventually paid to go away.

We still have his workers turning up who didn't get paid by him, wanting money from us. We wonder when we get the pleasure of angry man turning up for his ladders.

Anyway...

We are out of pocket. We have a shoddy roof. We need to make the best of a bad situation. It's unfortunately "Make Do and Mend"

....id be grateful for some help and advice Of How We Fix These Various Issues

Problems with the roof - grateful for advice how to fix...

1. None of the roof OSB has been cut straight, resulting in minimal overhang in some areas.

2. Poor finish of the fibre glass. We wonder if it will be watertight, will flake, or crack.

3. Edging is atrocious. This needs to be made much neater, also, we wonder about how water will drop off it.

4. Rendering/bricks missing. So there are holes that need filling.

The roof design is sloped to the guttering.
The other Three Sides, have a raised edge.
Therefore majority of water will drain into the Gutter.

You can see his the OSB isn't straight in the pic below, large overhand towards the rear, little to none at the front

Fibre Glass looks like this...
When it was wet

Now dry

The Edging, not sure how we can smarten this up now.

The rendering and holes to be filled...

Maybe ask the mods to move your post into roofing forum. Looks a terrible job though and I hope you get it sorted.

First job (as in the other post) is trading standards and small claims. Low odds you'll see any money but it's worth a try.
How to fix it? Rip it off and start again. Did he board over that ply roof or did he construct it- the joists and purlins look a bit skinny.

Not a lot you can say really, if he's a roofer I'm a brain surgeon!
Overboard it and stick some rubber on.

Your best bet might be to cover it with EPDM, which you could do yourself to save money.

So the 'roofers' did create that completely inadequate roof structure then? Trading standards, small claims. It's junk.
