sounds like laminated. It you're careful, take out the beads / putty holding the glass in place and the glass should come away. For exra safety, cover the pane in strong packing tape or similar.
Toughened Safety glass will sometimes stay intact when broken. If it is Toughened glass it will collapse and fall out everywhere as soon as you try to remove it. make sure you put dust sheets down first because if this stuff gets into carpets you'll be picking tiny glass splinters up for months or even years afterwards.
If it is Laminated Safety glass then you should be able to remove the glass from the frame in one piece. The PVB plastic interlayer inside the glass will hold it together although you'll still get the odd glass splinter if you bend the glass too much when taking it out.
