Hi All,
My partner and I moved into this small detached house last June. We had some problems with damp on the ground floor, which we think we have sorted. However now we are having problems in our living area, which is on 1st floor. We have no ceilings and essentially use the roof space.
The external walls are double-skinned brick, with no cavity. Now, we are discovering cracks along a couple of corners, with something crystallised, and it is coming through the paint.
I am not too sure what it is, it is almost certainly moisture-related.
- What should we do? Does this mean taking the plaster off and re-plastering?
- We are going to check the roof, but does it also have something to do with the fact we have no cavity in our walls?
