I am going to fit a new shower in the alcove where my old bath came out the problem i have is that the gap is only 1660 so its too big for a 1600 tray and door and too small for a 1700 and i really dont want to start taking out loads of wall.

My options are go for a 1600 with door and side panel but the i would have a silly gap i can do nothing with and a side panel at extra cost.

I could buy a 1600 tray and 1700 door as the door will fit as they fit between 1640 and 1690 this will leave a small gap of 60 mm and the end of the tray which i could tile and use as a small shelve.

Also i have only got a width of 700 due to sink. i can find trays sized 1670 x 760 but they are too big in width.

unless anyone has any better solutions?

Thanks shaun

Have you thought of the routing of pipework, might be worth using the extra 60mm as a void for pipes, so build a false wall for services.

Thank you thats a great idea i would only need some battens and a sheet of plasterboard very good thank you

Also has anyone ever used any sort or shower wall cladding as it looks so much quicker than tiling?

As it a shower area, use at least moisture boards rather than standard plasterboards or you could go belt/braces with aquapanels.
