The frame width external is 880mm x 2030mm

The opening from wall to wall is 820mm x 2000mm

The wall is cob stone ( with about 40mm cement render both sides), so if I take off render I will be able to fit the frame but am I doing the right thing or making to much work for myself? The door is second hand so cheap

Hard to see whats going on from that little pic.
Is there no way it will fit from the inside? It looks like there is lots of plastering to do in there anyway.

Also have you got enough clearance for the hinges on the inside? There is normally only about 10mm from the edge of the frame to the hinges.

Hi everyone, been a while but finally gotten round to trying to sort this.

I have teased off some of the render but the frame is 20mm or so to big at worst.

I don't know what to do as I bought this door second hand.

Before I take a grinder to the stone work which I don't really want to do has anyone any suggestions how I can squeeze a fit out of this?

Frame size 880, opening size from stone to stone approx 880, but kicking out 20mm in places

Door is pvcu

There should be some ribs on the sides of the door, They allow you to click on add on profiles when you need to make a door bigger. You can cut these off on both sides.
Depending on what make of door it is and the depth of the ribs it could reduce the size by 6-15mm

Also - hard to see/know if it would look daft or not work, but could you put the door into the opening at an angle? 12° would lose you about 20mm.

Thanks chaps, I actually decided to fit the frame on the very outside of the wall, I've fixed it with foam and now I'm going to frame fix it to the stonework.

To save a bit of time lukily some holes have already been drilled for it as it was second hand. just wondering if there was any preference for pvcu frames.

I have sitting around M10x100mm, and Mx60mm, which of these do I use?
