Help,fridge makes loud "cracking" noises

Hi,

We have a new MFI kitchen and includes the frost free Diplomat integrated frost free FF. Quite often it makes very loud snapping and cracking noises -what is this and can I do anything to stop it, it is level?? Never heard a fridge make such loud noises??

Possibly ice melting when the defrost heater comes on.
As it's new, phone MFI and have an engineer in to check it out.

But it's frost free?? Will get them to have a look but could cause big probs as it's built in!!

Frost free means that every so often it switches on a heater to defrost the evaporator.
Built in, half a dozen or so screws and it's out.
Depending on the make they may not even have to take it out, just empty the freezer and take the rear panel off for access.
