House sitting
Lit a lovely warm open fire.
Forgot to remove candles off the stone hearth.
30mins later they've melted
35mins later the melted wax is burning.
Scrapped off as much as possible.
But like the base of a ski, the wax is now in the stone's pores.
Google tells me
1) Ice it and scrape. I guess this clumps together the wax to pull it out of the pores.
2) Heat up with hair dryer or old iron and soak with brown paper, cotton, paper towel etc.
But has anyone completely removed it and the stain. The hearth is only a few months old.....
I'm unsure about using any solvent, liquid etc, as it might stain.
Thanks
