Help! Leaky Ford Focus 1.6 2005

Hi,
I have a leak in my Ford Focus and the water is collecting in the footwell of the drivers side, and is obviously causing a bit of a smell I was just wondering if anyone knew what the problem may be or has had a problem similar to this?

Two immediate suspects here....first the drain channels under the screen (outside) get blocked with leaves and you get wet knees. Second, if yours has the early pollen filter fitted below the screen passenger side, the housing leaks like a sieve too and the water runs across to your side.

What about Mondeo, brother in laws 2002 [diesel]model has damp/wet footwells front, rear and also in boot?

The rear lamp units let water in on these so it could be worth having a squint around there...the odd dusting of talc can give a useful trace.
Its also not unknown for the rear door cards to channel water into the footwells but here you can see the water trace running over the door seal and down onto the carpet.
