Help needed blanking a light switch

Hi, firstly thanks for everything I’ve learned so far from this forum researching this. Two light switches were installed by the developer but we only need one so I’d love a bit of help removing one light switch from a circuit.

I plan to keep this switch:

I have a terminal block ready to go and just need some help working out which wires I should terminate in which block from the second switch I plan to blank out.

This is the end of a two way circuit.

You could connect the brown and grey together in an bit of choc block. Then put the black wire on a separate piece of choc block. Then you can put a blanking plate over the back box.

If you want to lose the box (plaster over). The easy way is to disconnect the brown, black and grey wires at the switch at the other end of the circuit. Then the whole cable is not energised and you can fill the box in, if you want.
There is a small change also to do at the other switch. Let me know if you prefer this option, and post a pic of the switch, and we’ll tell you what to do.

At the switch you want to keep, once the brown, black and grey wires from that same one cable have been removed, you need to keep the remaining browns in L1, and remove the remaining brown from L2 and put it into COM instead.

In case the picture is a bit difficult to interpret (Sorry @SUNRAY , I struggled with it and I know what its trying to say!)

At switch one, remove Grey from L2, Black from L1, and brown from Com, check that they are all from one sheath/cable, snip exposed copper off and tape up in back of box (or put in connector block)

You should now have two browns in one of the terminals, and one brown in another, do not muddle them up! but put the group of two in com and the one on its own in L1

Put switch back together and power up and confirm that switch 2 is dead before disconnecting

I would cut back the old cable, it may be useful in the future! Connect the redundant ends to the earth terminal on the back box.
