not enough info.

what colour is it ?

how many openers does it have ?

what type of glass ,clear/obscure ?

does it need toughened glass ? (is it in a porch,if yes, pilkington 'k' glass not required, but toughened is.).

here's a thought with regards to you're subject title.
isn't that what some people would call an oxymoron. ;)

Surely to comply with Part L 2006, any window is required to have one pane of low E glass (pilks K or other) to achieve a u value of =<2.0Wm2/K :D

i can only speak from experience,i have recently changed 2 d/g units in 2 seperate porches and on both occasions the glass company told me the unit has to be toughened, but does not have to be 'k' glass.if in doubt, just ring a window manufacturer and ask.if i'm wrong then i apologise,i've been given the wrong information and 2 customers of mine have the wrong glass in their porches.

its a bog standard bedroom window, i want 1 opening bit, in ordinary white plastic.

Bendylow is right. If its an unheated area which is not part of the house (Garage or outside porch) It does not have to be K. :)

But if they decide to put a radiator in the porch (for arguements sake) then it needs to be K

That’s a good price for one window as long as the quality is OK. Make sure you get a FENSA certificate from the company or a certificate of conformance from the Council (Council will charge a fee) & a 10 year warranty. Also be aware that if the sill height is less than 800mm from the floor inside, the window must be toughened glass!

cheers! the company is fensa registered so i think ill be ok.

thanks 4 everyones help
