Help my daughter has a 18 month old toddler and the washing machine has started to play up on Christmas Eve Eve.
Symptoms ,machine will not drain fully, coming up with E21 code.
Filter has been removed and cleaned discharge pipework stripped and clear.
Machine is Logik L612WM16 approx 8 months old.
Any thoughts that could get out of this predicament on today of all days greatly accepted.

Thanks in advance.

If the code is an E21, then I recommend that you take the following troubleshooting steps:

Check the drain hose of the washer for kinks or clogs.

Check the washer drain to see if it is draining properly.

Make sure that your drain hose is installed properly to prevent siphoning of drain water back into the washer. Check to see if the drain hose is stuck way down the standpipe behind the washer. If it is then I recommend pulling it out so that it only protrudes down the stand pipe about 6" to 8".

Unplug the washer and remove the bottom front service panel as shown in the second image below. Arrange towels to catch residual water and check the drain pump for clogs or restrictions. NOTE: You should only conduct this check if you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely access and check the pump.

Obviously the last bit will vary depending on your machine.

I have had it where the corrugated hose goes too far into the standpipe and the water backs up, stopping the washer from pumping out.

You need to check that the internal pump workings are not blocked (sometimes garmets do get sucked in) by socks etc... My Mum's old AEG washer got blocked with a wire out of her bra!

Also you need to check that the corrugated hose from the machine is not blocked.

Have you checked the trap on the standpipe?

Does the machine drain at all ,is any water being pumped out ? If water is draining but very slowly ,suspect a blockage. If no water is being pumped out ,check the pump itself is free to spin.

Hi, thanks for the replys. It's my washer that's doing this and Terryplumb it doesn't drain fully on a long cycle but if after the error comes up I turn it off and on again and manually select drain it will drain it fully then

If that's the case then there is not a fault on the pump /drain/ hoses or filter but within the machines electronics. As its only 8 months old it will be still under warranty and you should contact the manufacturer.

Ok thank you for the help. I will get hold of them to sort it out for us.

@terryplumb just out of interest do you know an approximate figure I would be looking at to get something like that sorted?

Under warranty shouldn't cost you a penny Derek. Depending on what exactly the fault is and where you are geographically ,prices will vary quite a bit. In my neck of the woods reputable company's who specialise in diagnosing and repairing will come and assess / diagnose for 25 quid and give you a price to repair. Which you can accept or reject ,but you have to pay the 25 quid.

It a not under warranty. Was purchased in May 2017. Where abouts are you? I'm Cheshire

Merseyside. Merseyside domestic appliances ltd is the company I was referring to. As you will have to pay for a repair ,a few things to consider.....
A brand new machine is around 180 quid ( the model you have ). If the PCB is at fault they are around 80 to buy and of course add labour to that.
There is a section ,I believe in the consumer protection act , that protects consumers when they purchase an appliance that fails shortly after the warranty period. As you have an expectation that it will last for a reasonable period of time when you purchased it. You would need proof of purchase ,and could take issue with the retailer from whom you purchased it.
