Hi and thanks in advance to anyone for their help and advice,
I have a old type toilet cistern which flushes via a metal handle.

The old ball cock valve wont shut off now and it constantly overflows.
The inlet flexi -hose is also leaking.

How difficult is it to replace the flexihose and ball cock valve please
I have bought a fluid master 400uk bottom fill brass valve which I hope will fit but need to know if I need to use any sealant on the flexihose or new valve ?
Appreciate any help as not done any plumbing and a novice.
Thanks,
Phil.

No sealant required on either the flexible connector or the float valve.

Isolate the supply & drain down the cistern - sponge out the last of the water. Make sure the hole for the floatvalve (in the cistern) is clean outside and in and that will seal ok.
